Quote

Desiderata

Go placidly amidst the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its shams, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy.

Desiderata is the famous prose poem written by Max Ehrmann which means “desired things.”  It urges people to see the beauty and troubles of the world through wise, hopeful and compassionate eyes.

Syria

Hello, my name is Badr
I am a Syrian boy in Syria
I go to school, and play soccer in the streets, like everyone

Last week my brother was killed
He was in a bag, laying in front of our door
No, not my brother, PIECES of him

I thought I was dreaming
I could not see clearly any more
Then I saw the bracelet on a bloody hand
It had “best” written on if
I have the other half “Brother”
He gave it to me on my 8th birthbay

I ran to my room
I felt the whole world crying
I can’t understand why?
Why they kill my sweet big brother
Because he wanted Freedom?
I remember he promise me to fight for our freedom for our future
That was the last time i saw him alive
But why was his body torture this way?

I heard my mom screaming, and my tears burning
Two days later.. at night, we hear banging on our door
I try to be brave but I was shaking, my mom too
We don’t have electricity, I couldn’t see anything
I felt my mom tears on my cloth as they broke the door

I was hiding
I was scared

Man with guns were yelling, breaking our place a part
One man was holding gun to my dad head, “is freedom what you want?” he said
“Freedom is what we want” my dad screamed
They shot him and laughed
I couldn’t feel my body
I couldn’t cry, couldn’t breath
Don’t we all deserve our freedom?

I start to understand what was happening in the streets
Gunshots, cries and yells
To me it sounded like freedom being bom

Why can’t we say whatever we want?
Why can’t we fell safe in our councry?

My dream was destroyed
My family destroyed
My country destroyed

By who?
By the people who were meant to protect us
This isn’t just a nightmare
That I’m struggling to wake up from

Syria is really bleeding

Will you just pretend we don’t exist?
If we don’t speak up now together
Our freedom will stay a question forever

TEDxITT: ImagiNation

TEDxITT: ImagiNation
“Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country”  – John F. Kennedy

Coinciding with the birth of ‘Hari Kebangkitan Nasional’ on May 20, we design “ImagiNation” as the theme of our TEDxITT  second event . Word ‘ImagiNation’ is formed from word ‘Imagine’ and ‘Nation’ which means imagine the future of Indonesia. Imagination itself helps provide meaning to experience and understanding to knowledge. As our concern for this Nation and as citizen of Indonesia who proud of their country , we would like to contribute thinking about the state and the country’s image in the future. Even if  there’s no inspirational leader, we still must have a dream of our country.

Imagination makes it possible to experience the world in the mind. It gives the ability to see situations from different point of views and allow one to mentally explore the past and the future. So , with ‘ImagiNation’ we can imagine what’s the best condition we should make for better Indonesia in the future from a variety point of views and implement the thoughts.

Mencari Literatur Ilmiah Dengan Google Scholar

IS Research: Experiences and Recommendations”. Langkah pertama, buka halaman Google Scholar di http://scholar.google.com.
Google Scholar

Kemudian masukkan judul jurnal ilmiah yang dicari, lalu klik tombol Search. Jika perlu, gunakan Advanced Search.
Google Scholar

Google Scholar

Selamat mencoba!

The Smashing Book #1 Dalam Edisi Gratisan

The Smashing Book #1

User Interface Design in Modern Web Applications
The Art and Science of CSS-Layouts ( Part 1, Part 2 )
Typography: Rules, Guidelines and Common Mistakes ( Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 )
Usability Principles for Modern Websites
The Ultimate Guide to Fantastic Color Usage ( Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 )
Performance Optimization for Websites ( Part 1, Part 2 )

Unveiled

Mona Haydar

Lovers are veiled from the beauty of a full moon
until they have their beloved’s face and form to compare it to.
It comes to be that there is nothing more magical
nothing more Majestic
than the voice of the beloved
calling their name.

And when they sleep
they sees him,
and by day they pray
he will visit them by night
to bless them with his presence-
with beautiful dreams of his radiant face
and his regal countenance-
and so their lives become devoted
to that which pleases him,
so that they may deserve his companionship in a later life,
because in this life
they came too late to be enchanted by his physical light.

Cycles of the moon separate them and yet they yearn for him.

The moon burns and blazes brightly like the beloved’s legacy.
His path, rightly guided with the brilliance of the moon-
like the brilliance of his blessed face
a shining light, gently guiding towards freedom.

Only upon true tawhid is there a chance.
The contingency of this tawhid is that of belief in beloved:
First stemming from a respectful reverence
into a full blown deeply seated love affair,
where the shape of his generously granted smile is memorized
and mesmerized
is all there is.

He is all this world could ever dream to be
and so he came to be
and was
and made way for us.

Made it clear that the path to tawhid
is only through he, the beloved.
Man who consumes waking thoughts
and the dream world too.

Like the moon
he testified to truth.
Found and gifted annihilation
in complete submission.

Like the way he lived
when king was a title within his reach-
instead he reached for hearts,
with his touch so real and deep
he reached into centuries and destinies
and is a hearts to keep.

His legacy burns in hearts,
passionately blazes and lights the way
for those desiring the path.
He shines brighter than the moon,
the moon, which rises and falls
in memory of lighting his noble face.

He had:
wheat colored skin
because he was wholesome.
Solid and secure,
he was fashioned to become
the elegance
that blessed man with etiquette.

A body that shined like silver,
broad and beautifully built.

A toothy pearly brilliant white smile
that his noble face was rarely seen without.

Fully fleshed fingers and feet
and eyes
black like night.

Jabir (r) said: “I once saw RasululLah on the night of a full moon. At
times I looked at the full moon and at times at RasululLah, I came to find that RasululLah was more beautiful and radiant than the full moon.”

Split the moon in two-
and was more beautiful
than two moons could ever be.

So you see,
lovers are veiled from the beauty of a glorious moon
until they have Muhammad’s face to compare it to.

May we be from his blessed lovers.
Peace salutations and blessings be upon him.
